Ms. Poonam Dhillon is a film, television and theatre actor. She started her career with Mr. Yash Chopra’s movie Trishul (1978) and went on to act in more than 100 movies in Hindi, Telegu, Kannada and Marathi. Some of her notable movies include Noorie (1979), Saveray Wali Gadi (1986), Sohni Mahiwaal (2985) and Kasam (1988). Beside movies, Ms. Dhillon has also worked in various television serials and plays such as The Perfect Husband, The Perfect Wife, Pyar Mein Kabhi Kabhi and U Turn.

Ms. Dhillon is also a social worker and has been associated with some renowned organisations, which work toward empowering women. She was a key speaker at the International Women’s Conference, Bali International Association for Human Values, Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia, and at the Fourth SAARC Business Leader’s Conclave, Kathmandu, Nepal. Ms. Dhillon launched her web portal in 1995 titled ‘Star Ya Kalakar’ to guide and assist aspiring actors.

Among several others, Ms. Dhillon is a recipient of the Priyadarshni award, which recognises her contribution in the social service sector.
