Ms.
Jyoti Malhotra has been a
full-time journalist since 1984.
At present, she writes a weekly
column for Business Standard, a
blog for the Times of India and
contributes articles to The Hindu
and The Indian Express. She also
writes a column for the Express
Tribune, a Pakistan daily, and a
monthly column for the Gulf-based
newspaper The National.
Ms. Malhotra writes on India’s
internal politics, foreign affairs
and social issues. She has
reported and analysed the
compulsions of coalition alliances
as well as covered political
crises in border states like
Punjab and Kashmir in the capacity
of the diplomatic editor with The
Indian Express, Mint and Star News
(a news channel). She also worked
in Russia and covered the collapse
of the Soviet Union and its
consequent transformation for the
Times of India (1992-95).
Ms. Malhotra completed her
bachelor’s degree in psychology
from Lady Shri Ram College,
University of Delhi, in 1982, and
a master’s degree in psychology
from University of Delhi in 1984.
She also completed Indian School
Certificate (ISC) from MGD School,
Jaipur, in 1979.
